There are many individual reasons for being on health benefits. Some people suffer from stress or depression, some have muscle or joint problems, and some have an injury or disability. Many people also lack confidence if they have been out of work for a while. Not only can your condition keep you out of work for long periods of time, it can also make it seem harder to return.
Pathways to Work is a key part of the Government's aim to help more people on health benefits find employment. We work in partnership with Jobcentre Plus and offer a variety of free services to help you find the job you want.
If you need assistance to manage your health condition while you look for work and when you start work, our in-house health specialists run workshops and offer one-to-one advice and support to help you prepare for employment.

Your friendly and professional advisor can provide you with one-to-one support to help you find a job that suits your circumstances
Expert health advice
Our health specialists can help you manage your health condition when searching for work and when you are in work
Better-off calculations
We can show you how much better off you will be in work and which benefits you will be entitled to when you're in work, including the new Return to Work credit which can entitle you to an extra £40 per week, and Working Tax Credits
Workshops
Our health specialists run regular workshops such as 'Confidence building', 'Stress, anxiety and relaxation', and 'Coping with pain'
Expert job-hunting advice
We can help you find and apply for jobs, write a good CV, call employers and prepare for interviews
Free job-hunting facilities
You can use our computers, the internet, phones and newspapers whenever you like
Financial assistance
Where appropriate, we can pay for travel expenses, interview clothing and help with the costs of going back to work
Continuing support
We can continue to provide support once you have found a job, including filling in benefits forms and helping you to develop your career
