Minister for Work and Pensions visits Ingeus staff and clients

Fit for Work supports employed people who are either off sick or struggling to manage their health condition in work

Why is Fit for Work important?

The effects of ill-health and sickness absence on individuals, businesses and health services in the UK are significant. Evidence shows that, in general, being in work is good for health and most people want to return to work as soon as possible. The longer someone is out of work the more likely it is that their health will deteriorate, making it increasingly difficult for them to return.

On the Fit for Work programme, people with health conditions are given free support from qualified health professionals to help them manage their health better so they are able to work.

Where is Fit for Work available?
