We work in partnership with Children’s Centres to inform single parents about the local services they can benefit from.
Our Haringey Employment Zone works in partnership with Broadwater Farm Children’s Centre and Jobcentre Plus to engage more single parents in the borough.
An Ingeus outreach advisor attends Broadwater Farm Children’s Centre every week to conduct work-focused interviews with local single parents, at which they inform them about the free services they can access if they are looking for work.
Should any of the single parents be interested in taking advantage of the support available, an appointment with Ingeus can be booked immediately by the outreach advisor. Following the success of this approach, the scheme has been rolled out across four more Children's Centres in Haringey.
Annie Jordan, of Haringey Council, says, “The partnership works because it benefits everybody. The Children’s Centre can enrol new families onto their services, Jobcentre Plus benefit from high attendance, and Ingeus can engage parents in employment support at the same time. It is easier and more comfortable for parents to come to the Centre and access the help that they need.”
