"We have a strong partnership with Ingeus that is based on trust, integrity and the delivery of quality services."
Ingeus subcontracts to Groundwork London, the capital’s foremost environmental regeneration charity, to support long-term unemployed residents of London into lasting employment. So far we have referred 58 clients to Groundwork. They undertake environmental work placements with local regeneration teams and complete NVQs in horticulture, land operative qualifications and other environmentally focused training. Of those 58, 35 (60%) have moved into lasting jobs in gardening, horticulture and maintenance.
Our clients, under the expert tuition of Groundwork staff, learn essential skills to help improve the quality of green spaces in London’s local communities. Examples of projects that Ingeus’ clients have been involved with include the Westminster Community Gardening Project and the London Tree and Woodland Grant Scheme.
Groundwork London continue to support our welfare-to-work provision and more recently was part of our successful bid to run an Employability programme in West London, funded by the European Social Fund and the London Development Agency. In conjunction with Trees for Cities, they will be delivering ‘Go Green’, an environmental training and employment routeway, for residents of Brent, Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea and Ealing. Our relationship with Groundwork London is based on a mutual commitment to engaging and up-skilling London’s most disadvantaged communities in order to assist them into high-quality, sustainable employment.
Colin Zetie, Head of Employment and Training at Groundwork London, says, “We have a strong partnership with Ingeus that is based on trust, integrity and the delivery of quality services. Their designated Contract Co-ordinator provides our staff with regular support on the day-to-day running of our New Deal and LDA contracts. Our team is committed to delivering the best possible services to clients and over 60% of Ingeus’ clients who are on our provision enter employment.”
